Pharrell Williams’s latest vision for Louis Vuitton Menswear SS26 transported us to a game board of Indian heritage, craftsmanship, and cinematic nostalgia. Presented on a vibrant Snakes and Ladders runway designed by Studio Mumbai at Paris’s Centre Pompidou, the show was a love letter to Indian artistry and storytelling. The soundtrack? A.R. Rahman, whose iconic compositions layered the presentation with emotional richness and sonic homage.
The collection drew on traditional Indian textiles, silhouettes, and film. Most notably though, Louis Vuitton’s legendary trunks were transformed with elaborate embroideries that nodded to motifs from The Darjeeling Limited (2007), Wes Anderson’s visually rich film set in India. The prints and embroideries brought those travel-worn trunks, and many of the looks, alive with cinematic whimsy and wanderlust.
Yet, while the inspiration was rooted in the subcontinent, Pharrell created a collection that was his “safest,” according to Hyperbeast, but most wearable to date. Here’s how the trends shook out:
